Chili Water in Rome?

It was 10:am and it was not too early to be blown away.  While strolling the aisles at the Made in Hawaii Festival we noticed this guy having a great time passing out samples and telling us all  it’ll break your face, not just your mouth. Ok, bring it on.

Hmmmmm, very good and certainly not as frightening as we expected which was a great relief.  Broke da Face Chili Water is a vinegar / water base sauce made with select Hawaiian chili peppers.  And although it’s a condiment, we immediately thought of a zillion things to add it to make other sauces, in marinades, limitless.  But then Cody, the owner already knows this. Brilliant! The other great product is his Chinese Chicken Salad Dressing – really good – really perfect actually!

Cody is the founder and genius behind the brand “Broke da Face” and although this is a new company Cody has a famous reputation as “Da Sauce Man” throughout the Hawaiian Islands.  So really, it’s only natural for him to “take this stuff to market.” Cody’s been making sauces for friends and family for over 8 years and is classically trained in the culinary arts.  All his sauces are reminiscent of the foods he ate growing up in Hawaii with parents who love to cook.

Cody recommends “the sauce with Hawaiian foods, soups, stews, as a marinade, or simply mixed with shoyu as a great tasting lumpia sauce.”

We asked him what his 3 favorite things are about his new products:

“1) I use all natural ingredient and I try my best to stay away from processed sugars, salts, etc. 2) all my products are 100% made in Hawaii and 3) They all taste great … ‘nuf said!”
