Haole Boy Coffee
100% Haole Boy Coffee
We first noticed Haole Boy Coffee at the South Kona Farmer’s Market – the label is colorful, amusing and the name Haole Boy gave us a good chuckle. “Haole” means foreigner in the Hawaiian language and can apply to people, plants pigs or chickens … so what would a foreigner (plant or animal) be doing making 100% really Hawaiian (KONA) coffee we wondered.
Turns out Jim, his wife Julie and their son James (Triple J Farms) started out 13 years ago with a passion for growing great coffee. They wanted to be different than other labels and play on their Hawaiian status as “haoles” thus Haole Boy Coffee. With tender loving care they produce a great brew from coffee beans grown on their estate located on the slopes of Mt. Hualalai. This region is sort of like what Napa Valley is to the wine industry. Where macadamia nuts, cocoa and flowers grow abundantly with just the right amount of Mother Nature in attendance.
Haole Boy Coffee is more native than foreign in their quality coffee and simply enjoyed by all.
