Hawaiian Rainforest Naturals
It Doesn’t Get Any Better Than This
Joy Johnson and her daughter Melia Goodenow are the founders and creators of Hawaiian Rainforest Naturals. Joy moved to Hawaii when it was still a territory and fell in love with the people and the beauty. She soon learned to live the Hawaiian ways. Melia was born here and raised in the practices of Hawaiian spirituality. Joy’s main teacher was Kahuna La’au Lapa’au, Morrnah Simeona (1913-1992) one of Hawaii’s greatest Kahuna and sharers of ancient knowledge. Her main teachings were about Ho’oponopono, restoring aloha & harmony with yourself and your family. She also taught the gathering, storing and use of mana, spiritual energy. In all of her teachings, the key is to be in Present Time.
Melia’s background includes Hula, Hawaiian Lomilomi massage and also the usage of and healing with Hawaiian plants. The forests, the mountains, the stones, the ocean, the mists & rains, the land, the sky, these have been her greatest teachers. Teaching her that the Earth is providing us with all we need; food, shelter, comfort, healing. Melia is there for everyone. In the Western disciplines she have my Bachelor’s of Business Administration with advanced courses in Social Work, studying the diseases of the mind and the emotions.
Hawaiian Rainforest Naturals is the culmination of all the learning and experiencing they have both had and are grateful for this opportunity to share these gifts from the Hawaiian Rainforest with you.
How are your flower essences prepared?
“In the early morning as we gather the freshly opened flower blossoms, we always ask for permission from the plant and from the forest or area where it is growing. Carefully the dew filled blossoms are gathered and then floated in water and left in the sun. It is at this time that the flower essence energies are released into the water. After a few hours, the flowers are removed and the solution is strained. Next, an equal amount of brandy is added for preservation. This new mixture is placed into direct sunlight for a few more hours. After this, the solution is complete and called the “Mother Stock”. This is further diluted before the final bottling. The original flower blossoms are given back to the Earth with many prayers of gratitude and Aloha.”
