The Perfect Folded Aloha Shirt

Lindy Styer is a self proclaimed folding maniac and admirer of crafty ideas. These origami “Aloha” shirts are very clever.  From adorning each shirt with a miniature button to creating inner pockets – each one more fashionable than the last.

Exactly how does one start folding paper so entertainingly?  By admiring one she found 15 years earlier.  And when they went out of business, she started folding the origami style aloha shirts herself and now she’s an expert.

And so are her friends, Tammy and Linda Dawson.  Each card is hand made in Pohakupu, Kailua by the Dawson  family – Tammy’s mom, Linda handles quality control and they all have a long friendship going back over 30 years.

“What the card is really saying is, somebody went to a lot of trouble to get you something unique and memorable,” Lindy says. “If you want to make someone feel special, you get something that makes the person feel special.”

Today she finds herself busy fulfilling local retail stores and building  distribution. Right now you can find  Hawaiian Style Greeting cards only at select retail stores in Oahu.  These are fabulous for everything – from baby showers to company events.
