It’s Iune!
It’s Iune!
Iune – pronounced ee-oo-ney – is here and we’ve been busy. This month we have eight really great stories from Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. The weather is already sunny, the ocean is warm tourist season is right around the corner. Thankfully most everything on this site can be ordered on-line. Unfortunately tho, it’s still not easy to get some of the most amazing stuff in the world delivered right to your door. At ReallyHawaiian.com we’re working to change all that. Our on-line store is under construction, vendors lining up and marketing plan is in place. Next month is our 1 year anniversary edition in which we explore some rather unconventional products from Hawaii.
Also next month Ke Ola Magazine, a delicious publication on the Big Island that features articles on the islands artist and craftsmen, cultural offerings, books, locally grown foods, dining opportunities and much more, has donated a full page ad to ReallyHawaiian.com in support of our mutual respect for the vast cultural resources and assets from Hawaii that help to support the people and businesses throughout the Hawaiian islands. It is Ke Ola “the life” of the Big Island. Many mahalos Barbara and Karen of Ke Ola.
It’s Summer in Hawaii – let’s go to Waikiki. Get out your beach rafts, a few straw mats and be prepared for fun on the hippest beach in Hawaii. In fact when you’re done, just leave all those items by the side of the road. That’s right – no worries, Kini Beach will grab them for you and re-sell ‘em for about 10x what you just paid! Jocelyn Cheng’s art is all about watercolors, dive in! We have been holding onto the Made in Hawaii Foods post for a while now, time to let them out of our note book, enjoy. Hawaiian Style Greetings, Lindy is this crazy folding person who’s line of really cool (really) origami folded “aloha” shirts is happening! These are good for so many reasons, check it out here. Tiare Teiti is a talented designer and we l-o-v-e her stuff, it’s just always sold out! No wonder, check out her line here.
Purebreed is a pretty interesing find, if you have teenagers or are one yourself, check this out. Purebreed our only “in your face” cool post! Might have to order some Island Princess chocolate covered mac nuts afterwards and that’s ok becuase their website is super easy to order from. Honomu Jams and Jellies and the Kona Gold Vanilla Company have already given away what they do best, and we agree – these two products are the best.
Have a great read – many mahalos for your continued suppprt. Next month is our 1st Anniversary edition and already we’re starting to celebrate!
Aloha,
Really Hawaian Team

Am I missing something?
The title is
It’s Lune!
Shouldn’t it be June?
In Hawaii, the month of JUNE is LUNE – with an “L” … yes very close to June, but it’s in Hawaiian. UPDATE – WE’RE WRONG. IT IS SPELLED WITH AN “I” … THANK YOU FOR HELPING US SEE THE ERRRR OF OUR WAYS.
It’s a small error. It should read Iune (Hawaiian for June), but in some font sets, a capital “i” sometimes becomes an “L” upon HTML conversion.
Mahalo Claudine for helping us see through this typo! The Hawaiian language is an art – and welcome every opportunity to learn more about it.
