Aloha!

Manila Extract was created to share Aloha with you and to share Aloha with children in need. Tanya makes everything by hand, sharing Hawaii’s unique resources, and in turn a portion of the proceeds are given to charity.  Everything is made by hand by one person – Tanya Kearns where quality vs. quantity is her passion.

Tanya began in 2003 as a small business creating fine hand painted glassware. In 2009, she expanded to include earth friendly coffee sack handbags, accessories and additional handcrafted Aloha products.  Everything is made from re-purposed Hawaiian coffee and rice sacks.

Her best selling product is the Halali’i – her hobo-style coffee sack handbag.  The zipper clutch comes in a close second!  She has new handbag designs for the upcoming Fall/Winter seasons incorporating more natural elements like bamboo, opihi shell, peka’a seeds and kukui nut.  Tanya is even working on creating personal artwork for large lanai pillows, lamp shades and more.

After college Tanya volunteered in an orphanage and her perspective on life changed.  Manila Extract was created out of a personal conviction to help bless children in need.  Go Tanya, and we wish much success.
