Old Hawaiian Coffee
Think Organarchy!
A motto to remember
Originally established in the 1830-1840 period in Honaunau, South Kona, Old Hawaiian Coffee is true to it’s name, just look at the street sign above! That’s ReallyHawaiian. Certified Organic since 1992, using traditional organic farming methods – with NO herbicides, no pesticides, NO GMO crops, no synthetic fertilizers. The coffee plantation and coffee mill are owned by Misha Sperka and the Sperka family. “We have been operating our farm for the past seventeen years. Our plantation was originally known as the Peaberry Farm and we changed the name in 1991. Coffee was originally planted on this farm as long ago as the 1830-1840 period” Located in about 25 miles South of Kailua-Kona, on the western slope of Mauna Loa, in Honaunau, Big Island of Hawaii.
They control the tropical weed growth and vine growth with a small herd of St. Croix-Barbados sheep. Fortunately coffee is a hardy plant so the trees grow as nature intended them to. To toff off a really good thing, their coffee trees are “keiki” of those originally brought to Hawaii. They have been planted on their farm before GMO existed.
