Stomp!
Percussion Hawaiian Style
We just got word that the off-Broadway show STOMP is headed to Honolulu. Scheduled from December 22 2009 – January 3rd, 2010 at the beautiful Hawaii Theater.
While urban in look and feel STOMP is inspiring with their unique percussion style and rhythm, and that’s Really Hawaiian. STOMP uses everything but conventional instruments to fill the stage with rhythm. Returning to Honolulu for the first time in five years – STOMP has got their matchboxes, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters and hubcaps ready to go; this time with updated and restructured sections as well as the addition of new full scale routines utilizing props like tractor-tire inner tubes and paint cans. If can can, if no can inner tubes are ok!
The San Francisco Chronicle declares “STOMP has a beat that just won’t quit!” The Los Angeles Times exclaims: “Electrifying! Triumphs in the infinite variety of the human experience.” “A phenomenal show! Bashing, crashing, smashing, swishing, banging and kicking – a joyous invention!” says the Chicago Tribune.
