Waimea Gardens
Perfect for the Holidays!
A truly magical B & B on the Big Island. This is the place where dreams start. This isn’t a hotel resort where you check in – see the sights – check out. Wamea Gardens is a home away from home and with all the fixin’s. Such as daily maid service (Aloha Heather) and a chocolate on your pillow. Slow running steams, large green yards, perfectly manicured gardens and the peace of mind that comes with feeling really Hawaiian and in the moment.
Every cottage (there are 3 individual cottages) is filled with the best – from luxury linens and robes, to fresh farm eggs, local fruit and Kona coffee. This is the place for family reunions, a friendly rendezvous, honeymoons and just good ol’ Hawaiian vacations. You’ll feel welcome, warm and appreciated at Waimea Gardens.
There’s nothing Barbara and Charlie Campbell, your hosts and proprietors, don’t know about ‘real’ sight seeing on the Big Island. You can find Charlie around the gardens, busy building anything he can get his hands on. Barb is either dashing about town or cooking in her amazing custom built kitchen. That’s how we found Barb and Charlie some 15 years ago – happily living in Hawaii, enjoying life. Come visit Hawaii – the Campbells can’t wait to meet you and share their knowledge of this great island.
And if you’re very lucky – you might run into Merci. She’s Charlie’s 101 year old Mom and lives on the property – watch out she doesn’t run you over on her daily walks, Merci is one lively centurian. Quick story: She is one of 6 children – when she was born her father said to her mother “well dear that’s it for having kids”, to which her mother replied “Merci” … Aloha Merci !

I had the great pleasure of staying in the Garden Room at Waimea Gardens, and was blown away with everything from the grounds to the comfort I felt in the cottage. It is absolutely a beautiful, peaceful place to stay, and would recommend it to anyone who was visiting Hawaii for pleasure or business, or even if you live here like I do and need a home away from home…this is the place!
